BikeTexas was happy to host TxDOT for a webinar on January 31 as TxDOT staff presented the Statewide Active Transportation Plan (SATP) to folks from around the state who are interested in what’s in the works for biking, walking, and rolling in Texas.
Attendees were able to ask questions, offer feedback, and learn about opportunities to provide further input as TxDOT moves into the next phase of the development of the SATP.
Missed the webinar? Want to watch again? Check it out here:
The SATP is the foundation of future bike lanes, trails, multi-use paths, and other facilities–including the 8,000-mile Bicycle Tourism Trails–all interconnected into a large, statewide network. The SATP has the potential to:
- connect existing bicycle and walking facilities;
- create new routes to expand bicycle tourism around the state;
- offer more mobility options to more Texans; and
- provide an economic boost to localities across Texas—from our smallest towns to our biggest cities.
If you prefer to look through TxDOT’s SATP presentation slides (including results from the poll questions asked during the webinar) without narration, you can find those here:
We appreciate the many questions asked during the webinar and are still gathering answers for those that could not be answered live. Be sure to check back for updates!
