One woman’s search for answers after her brother was hit and killed by a car brings attention to regulations on how cyclists and motorists share the road

“This is a good example of a police officer that was writing faster than he was possibly thinking about it,” said Robin Stallings, head of the Texas Bicycle Coalition, who was contacted by Preuss about her brother’s accident.
Stallings, whose agency is working on a training program for law enforcement agencies, said that with adult bicycle accidents, drivers are at fault more often than that, even if they aren’t charged.
“We actually get reports of officers that don’t know the basic rules of bicyclists,” he said.
