A Texas Bicycle Coalition team was elated to be in Fort Worth for the Texas Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (TAHPERD) 83rd Annual Convention. Allison Seale, Brenda Chuleewah, Elaine Williams, KC Jones and Byron de Sousa gave a Cowtown size welcome to over 3,000 health, physical education, recreation and dance professionals who came to the Fort Worth Convention Center for this wonderful gathering that started on November 29th and ended on December 2nd, 2006.
Convention participants took advantage of the many presentations and exhibits that were at the heart of TAHPERD’s annual gathering. The Texas Bicycle Coalition team was delighted with the large number of those professionals who flocked to our booth to obtain information on our Safe Routes to School Program (SRTS) and to request more SuperCyclists classes in their areas. Physical education teachers came to the Fort Worth TAHPERD’s convention from all areas of Texas and demonstrated a great interest on the Texas Bicycle Coalition educational programs.
TBC enjoyed the opportunity to meet with the teachers that make our work possible and to continue to spread the word about bicycling safety programs for their communities. What a wonderful and well organized convention! Thank you Fort Worth! Thank you TAHPERD!
