BikeTexas Partners with Circa-Austin on Bike Rides for Texas Conference Attendees.
A giant pecan tree provided relief from the near 100 degree July heat to conference attendees at the sprawling Hyatt Lost Pines Resort, on the Colorado River near Bastrop. BikeTexas staff was there to provide bicycles and cycling expertise to Circa-Austin, a destination management company. Circa provides a single point-of-contact for logistics and event activities for conference and convention guests in Central Texas (it also has a San Antonio office).
Circa’s client was a large agricultural seed company that booked the entire resort for four days, July 16-20, so that their employees from across the American Midwest and Canada could meet, work, relax and bond together. After sitting in seminars for two days, the guests were ready to get outside and do something physical!
The first collaboration between Circa-Austin and BikeTexas was an in-town bike tour this past May for a software company conference. The ride took in Stephen F. Austin’s grave at the Texas State Cemetery, the Texas State Capitol, the Pfluger Bike and Pedestrian Bridge in downtown Austin, and a long stretch of trail along Lady Bird Lake. The attendees loved the bike tour as a way to see the local sights in a personal way. Circa provides a wide range of visitor activities, from Hill Country bus tours, “Casino Night” at the hotel and cooking classes at Whole Foods to more physical endeavors such as rafting, kayaking, and now, bicycling.
Circa offices two blocks from the BikeTexas Austin Office on East Sixth Street.
