BikeTexas members, board members, and staff gathered both at the office and online on Sunday, September 15, for the annual BikeTexas Membership Meeting.
Topics at the meeting included the 2013 Legislative session, the BikeTexas Benchmarking Report, the continuing success of BikeTexas KidsKup, our educational video game Jenny’s Neighborhood, and the upcoming Texas Trails and Active Transportation Conference.
Jeremy Grandstaff of S & G Endeavors (formerly of the Alliance for Biking and Walking) presented results of the Strategic Planning process that BikeTexas has worked through for the past several months. After surveys, webinars, and lots of feedback, the BikeTexas Strategic Plan is nearly complete.
New board members were approved and outgoing members were recognized for their service at the meeting. BikeTexas especially thanks outgoing chair Bill Shea for his service, and welcomes new chair Annie Melton.
Board Chair Annie Melton recognized and thanked BikeTexas Executive Director for his 10 years as ED.
The membership meeting was not complete until the winner of the Annual Bike Giveaway was drawn! BikeTexas member Kent from Houston was the lucky winner of the Trek 7.2 FX bike, generously donated by Trek for the giveaway. Congratulations, Kent!
