On Oct 16th-18th, 2009, BikeTexas staff traveled to North Little Rock, Arkansas to attend the “Winning Campaigns” training hosted by the Alliance for Biking and Walking. The training consisted of facilitator-led exercises in planning campaigns, based upon successful model campaigns.
In attendance were bike/ped advocacy organizations from Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Arkansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma. BikeTexas Executive Director Robin Stallings co-facilitated the training, along with Jeffrey Miller, President of the Alliance for Biking and Walking, and Ron Milam, founder of the Los Angeles Bicycle Coalition. The training was a tour de force of motivation, creativity and structure (and not to mention, fun!).
