Melissa bans bikes on FM 455
[Correction: Anna City Council enacted the bike ban, not Melissa City Council]

But Robin Stallings, executive director of the Texas Bicycle Commission in Austin, said he and several other local cyclists disagree with the ban, which is why they made a noticeable appearance at Tuesday night’s meeting. He also said they were upset that the city did not consult with them before enacting the ban.
“They have a bike ban on a particular stretch of state road, so it’s important to us that Texas doesn’t get pock-marked with bike bans,” Stallings said. “Sections of roadways are cut out because somebody doesn’t want bicycles on there….We pay taxes on those roadways and we have rights just like any other citizens.”
