Cyclists seek bike trail for El Camino Real

Gina Donovan of Tyler, communication director of the Texas Committee on Natural Resources, is working to establish an eight-mile bicycle trail along the west side of the Neches River. She testified before a Texas Senate legislative subcommittee last spring on behalf of the Texas Bicycle Coalition for the Texas Bicycle Tourism Trails legislation.
“It (the bill) allows us a vehicle to seek funding for these trails such as signage, potential rest stops, mapping and that kind of thing for tourists and bicyclists to use when they come in our area,” Donovan said.
