A parent’s journey to distinction
Mother tells what she taught, learned while raising famous cyclist

“You think you spend your whole life teaching them,” Ms. Kelly said, “but you never think about what they teach you. And what Lance taught me was to give back. It’s healing, it’s rewarding and it’s fun.”
After marrying her husband, Ed, three years ago, Ms. Kelly retired from Ericsson. She serves as an ambassador for the Lance Armstrong Foundation and speaks about child safety on behalf of the National Safe Kids Campaign and the Texas Bicycle Coalition.
