Coalition Member Receives REI Stewardship Award

Jeanne Patterson of Frisco, Texas was recently selected to receive the REI Stewardship Award, which is given to six recipients nationally. The Stewards of the Environment Award provides recognition to local environmental heroes across the country who have made an impact and inspired others.

Help Get Bike Trails in Your Community

Project nominations will be accepted now through April 28, 2006. TxDOT will hold several public workshops through December to assist in the project nomination phase. {/attractor}Do you want more bike trails in your community? BikeTexas and TxDOT Work to Repeal Bike Bans

In recent months, BikeTexas members informed Texas Bicycle Coalition of two bicycle bans in north Texas. Texas Bicycle Coalition has been working with the Office of General Counsel of the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) regarding these issues.

Texas Trails Conference November 4-6, 2005

The Texas Trails Network annual statewide trails conference is November 4-6, 2005 in San Marcos. Texas Bicycle Coalition is sponsoring the conference along with other organizations, and the BikeTexas Trail Doctors will be featured presenters.

Texas Bicycle Coalition Re-trains Field Instructors

For the first time since 2002, the Texas Bicycle Coalition Education Department held a comprehensive training for field instructors on September 30, 2005. The training focused on standardizing the Texas SuperCyclist Curriculum teacher trainings with the goal of making the trainings more fun and effective.

Teacher Training Draws Crowd in Lubbock
