Saturday, November 7, 2009 was a beautiful day for the 24 small mountain bike racers at the BikeTexas Kids Kup at Rocky Hill Ranch.
This was the last Texas Mountin Bike Racing Association (TMBRA) race of the Fall series. Be sure and check the calendar for the Spring Series. If you don’t have one already, go get yourself and your child a mountain bike and start a healthy, fun habit. Everyone will love it!
Rocky Hill Ranch is near Smithville, 45 miles out of Austin, and is well worth a trip for the 25 miles of trails for riding and hiking. There is camping, RV hookups, showers, a saloon and café with “Chicken Bingo” (yes, with live chickens!) and a wonderful sunset view from the café.
The BikeTexas Kids Kup series run every Saturday before every TMBRA race. Saturday is pre-ride day for the TMBRA series race on Sunday. Every child receives a Shimano medal, Clif bars and a good time. Families come to the event to ride, camp out, and enjoy the fresh air and beautiful countryside.
