BikeTexas is proud to once again be your Texas coordinator for the Saris 5th Grade Poster Contest! This year’s theme is #LongForTheRide (yes, a hashtag), and students should create posters that show what they love about riding a bike.
Here’s what to do!
- Download the official rules here.
- Get your 5th graders busy creating! Make sure they include the required elements in the official rules, including using the hashtag #longfortheride somewhere in the design.
- A little hint: Please discourage your students from using licensed characters in their poster. We all love the idea of Iron Man on a bike, but posters with licensed charcters are unlikely to win.
- Choose a schoolwide winner, attach a completed permission slip to the back, and send the winning poster to us postmarked by October 21:

That’s it! The statewide winners will be announced shortly after October 21. The top three posters in the state will receive:
First Place:
Schwinn Bicycle
Schwinn Helmet
Schwinn Bell
And the winning Texas poster goes on to the national contest for a chance to win a trip to Washington, D.C., plus for his/her school to win new bike parking!
Second Place:
Schwinn Helmet
Schwinn Bell
Third Place:
Schwinn Helmet
Now’s the time! Get your 5th graders’ creative juices flowing for the 2015 Saris National 5th Grade Poster Contest!
