Make the 4th Annual Viva! Streets Spectacular
Volunteer, have fun, get a free t-shirt
Volunteer at the Fourth Annual VIVA! Streets in Austin
On Sunday, September 13, East 6th Street will become a playground for all ages, filled with fun, music, and neighbors at VIVA! Streets ATX. We’re so excited for Austin’s fourth annual open streets event, and we want you to be a part of it.
Please volunteer with us on September 13 between 8 AM and 8 PM and you’ll get a VIVA! Streets t-shirt in addition to having lots of fun. Can’t be there for the whole day? No worries– we’ll have lots to do all day long. Choose a time that’s best for you!
Volunteer Opportunities

Pre-Event
Want to help get ready for the big day? Stop by the BikeTexas office and help us with the pre-event planning of VIVA! Streets.
  • Distribute promotional materials to places you frequent.
  • Assemble wheel covers and distribute our purple marketing bikes.
  • Make follow-up phone calls, do some data entry, or visit businesses along the route to remind them about VIVA! Streets.

Day of the Event
Set Up: 8 AM – 12 PM

Be the team that puts everything in place.

  • Put up tents, chairs, and stages.
  • Place signage along the route.
  • Assist sponsors with their booth set up, as needed.
  • Chalk art directional signs on the street.

During the Event: 11:30 AM – 5 PM

  • Manage a street block and encourage people to play in the street.
  • Assist with activities throughout the route: encourage attendees to participate in a zumba/gardening class, try hula hooping, or take on an obstacle course.

Take Down: 4 PM – 8 PM

Help us pack everything up. We want to make sure we leave the street just like we found it.

  • Take down tents, chairs, tables, stages, generators, and signs.
  • Bring all the items to BikeTexas.
  • Assist sponsors with taking down their set up, as needed.

Sign up here to volunteer for Viva! Streets and plan to join us on East 6th on September 13! Questions? Email Marc at marc@biketexas.org.

Share the VIVA! Streets Facebook event and invite all your friends! Follow us on Twitter for updates. Use the hashtag #VivaStreetsATX on any social network to spread the word.
