Get Involved: Bike Happenings Near You

Updated 6-17-15 to add The Woodlands.

Cities around Texas are working on bike plans, master plans, and other plans to keep our cities and our state moving in all kinds of ways as we continue to grow. Don’t miss out on what may be happening near you!

Get Involved: Bike Happenings Near You

Corpus Christi: Corpus Christi’s MPO is working on a strategic plan for active mobility. Take a survey or get more involved with their mapping to let them know where you ride– and where you need to see improvement.

Houston: Take a survey for the new Houston Bike Plan here. Want to give even more input? Join the discussion here.

Hutto: Bike Hutto is hard at work to make Hutto a great place to ride a bike. Help them out by taking this survey.

Lubbock: The Lubbock City Council is working towards a a study to determine the next steps for bicycle infrastructure in Lubbock. Stay tuned for more on what you can do, but in the meantime, it’s always a good idea to let your council member know you support bicycle accommodations.

San Antonio: The public comment period for the environmental statement on plans for 281 is now open. Why comment? Original plans called for a paved trail to be built along this new highway, but now that isn’t in the plans. Let them know you want them to plan for active transportation every time. Additionaly, do you use VIA? Help plan the next step for public transportation in San Antonio here.

The Woodlands: The Township Board of Directors has taken the next step toward creating a Pedestrian and Bicycle Master Plan–a project the Bike the Woodlands Coalition has been working on for three years–by sending out a RFP for planning. Right now is a great time to contact the Board, thank them for sending out the RFP, and encourage them to see this project through so The Woodlands has a Pedestrian and Bicycle Master Plan.

Did we miss one? Email us at mail@biketexas.org to let us know about plans in your area!
