Bicycle Retailer and Industry News (BRAIN), a national trade magazine for the bicycle industry, recognized seven BikeTexas Member Bike Shops for demonstrated excellence as Top 100 Bicycle Retailers of 2006.
The stores were selected because they excel in community outreach, store appearance and market share. The following BikeTexas Members were recognized as Top 100 Bicycle Retailers of 2006:

In addition to recognition in the Top 100, Plano Cycling & Fitness also has been awarded the prestigious BRAINy award for the best family shop in the nation. Shop Owner and Coalition Board Member Rick Gurney is quoted in the article: “It’s a big honor. We try to remain humble and appreciate the support we get from the cycling community.” This is the second year in a row that Plano Cycling & Fitness has received Top 100 honors. The business has been in the Gurney family since 1973.
These shops have been recognized for their outstanding community outreach. Their staunch support of Texas Bicycle Coalition and cycling initiatives in their communities certainly merits national recognition. The Coalition congratulates these leaders of the Texas bicycle industry and thanks them for doing their part to make Texas more bikeable for everyone.
