Hotter ‘n Hell Hundred
Every year, we look forward to one special trip: Wichita Falls, to attend the largest bicycling event in our great state, the Hotter’N Hell 100. Now in its 38th year, the HH100 routinely draws 15,000 riders. HH100 has long been a BikeTexas Event Member, making a generous donation to bike advocacy efforts in Texas.
In celebration of the HH100, we have special membership premiums that will only be available this weekend. Join BikeTexas or renew your membership during HH100 weekend to not only enter to win a bike, but also take advantage of these once-a-year membership specials.

New eBike Law Goes Into Effect September 1
BikeTexas is proud to announce that the 2019 legislative session ended with Governor Abbott signing HB 2188 into law! This bill standardizes ebike definitions across the state and brings Texas into line with other state and international standards. We appreciate the support we received from Bicycle Product Suppliers Association and People for Bikes as we reached out to legislators and worked to address their concerns during the session.
Bill author Rep John Frullo and co-author Rep Lyle Larson did great work bringing their colleagues on board in the House, while Senate sponsor Sen Carol Alvarado and co-sponsor Sen Larry Taylor did the same on their side of the building, leading the bill to pass with near-unanimous support in both chambers. Learn more about the new ebike law here.

Submit a Session Proposal for #TTAT2019
Registration is open for speakers to propose a session for the 2020 Texas Trails and Active Transportation Conference. We invite you to share your hard-won knowledge with other professionals in San Antonio, March 25-27, 2020. What’s your best story? We want to hear it!

BikeTexas Annual Membership Meeting is September 15
Join us in Austin or online on Sunday, September 15, for our Annual Membership Meeting, from 3:30 to 4:30 PM. Reception to immediately follow the meeting.
The Membership Meeting will be held at our new office location at 506 Springdale Road (map). Online meeting details and signup will be available soon.

Bright Lights, School Bikes: Order your BikePedEd Today
Ready or not, the new school year is here! We send our best wishes to students, teachers, and parents as they set out on this new learning adventure.
Now’s the best time to order activity books and lights from BikePedEd. Pass this info on to your school district, so that they have plenty of bike and walk safety items to hand out all year long.

Bike Month is Brewery Month Winners
“I am so excited I won this ebike. I am going to give it to my wife and now she can ride with me,” Dave Hubber exclaimed with joy when he found out that he had won the ebike.
BikeTexas celebrated Bike Month with a new “Bike Month is Brewery Month” partnership with Friends & Allies Brewing Co., Lazarus Brewing Co. and Zilker Brewing Co., plus an ebike raffle.
