Great news! HB 471, Safety Light at Night, and HB 2459, the Iris Stagner Safe Passing Act, have been scheduled for a hearing in the House Transportation Committee on Thursday, April 16.
The House Transportation Committee needs to hear from constituents TODAY to get these bills out of committee and onto the House floor for a vote. If one of the committee members represents you, please reach out with an email or phone call and ask for a YES vote on HB 471 and HB 2459. (Not sure who your representative is? Find out here.)

We’ve found the following format to be useful when contacting elected officials:
- My name is _____ and my occupation is ______. I (and my spouse/children/parents) ride a bike in (your city or district).
- Please support HB 471 and HB 2459.
- (Tell your representative why these bills are important to you.)
- Thank you for your time and consideration.
An email from a constituent can make all the difference in the legislative session! Thank you for making Texas a great place to ride a bike.
