Two Ways YOU Can Lobby for Bikes

Join the League of American Bicyclists and fellow cyclists from all over the country in Washington, DC next month, March 10-12, to make sure cyclists are represented in the federal transportation bill. The more cyclists attending and the more congressional districts represented, the bigger impact we can have on our legislators. If times are too tight financially but you’d like to go, ask if your bike club can sponsor a member to attend.

BikeTexas Cyclists in Suits Bike Lobby Day
This is a bi-annual event, held during the regular Texas legislative sessions – this year we will have it on Monday, April 20, 2009. This event gives cyclists an opportunity to share their love of cycling with elected officials. The goal is to have cyclists from every legislative district in Texas visit the capitol and show the legislature that cyclists are voters and we want them to represent our interests. Clubs from Houston, Dallas and San Antonio have chartered buses for the trip, so check with your bike club about doing something similar. Click here for pictures from Cyclists in Suits 2007!
