Cyclists in Suits – Texas Bike Virtual Lobby Day – March 22, 2021

3 Hour Lobby Day Training – March 21, 2021

Register for Lobby Day

2021 brings us opportunities to make Texas a great place to ride a bike, and a key part of that is meeting with our legislators on Texas Bike Virtual Lobby Day, March 22. Your voice is crucial to keeping lawmakers focused on bicycle access, education, and safety.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, Cyclists in Suits is an online-only event for 2021. Since there is no need to travel to Austin, we anticipate more folks than ever will be able to participate. Everyone who rides a bike in Texas is encouraged to attend, including teens—now is a great time to introduce young Texans to participating in our democracy. Experience in advocacy is not required, as we will have a training session with plenty of time to practice ahead of time.

In the past, we’ve caught some bad bills and changed legislators’ minds with these Bike Lobby Day Meetings. Your voice matters!

Register today for Cyclists in Suits – Texas Bike Virtual Lobby Day so that we can continue to advance safe biking and walking in Texas.

Registration Details

By registering, you are committing to one or more meetings on March 22 to represent the Texas bicycling to Texas legislative members and staff. We will schedule your meetings based in part on your House and Senate districts. Our message is stronger when legislators and staffers know that they are hearing from folks from their district!

Lobby Day Training is March 21. Whether you are new to Lobby Day or a veteran of past efforts, we ask that you mark your calendar for training on March 21. We will practice skills that will equip you to confidently share the importance of creating and expanding safe biking and walking for all Texans.

Registration for Cyclists in Suits is $20.

Speak up for Texas at the National Bike Summit (NBS)

With so many events still in a virtual format, we have the unique opportunity this year to attend the National Bike Summit, hosted by the League of American Bicyclists, without having to travel to DC. NBS is February 28th – March 3rd.

With a new administration and a new Congress, it’s more important than ever for Texans who bike and walk to be heard at the national level. A new infrastructure bill is expected in 2021, with funding that is key to many projects in Texas.

Learn more about the National Bike Summit.

Together we can advance bicycling in Texas!
