Director, Wichita Falls
Dr. Anne-Marie Williamson realizes that creating an environment where healthy choices are the easy choices brings about real change and this is what brought her to BikeTexas.
“Board members bring various perspectives to the table and each member’s voice is important. I want folks to participate in healthy behaviors— cycling being one of them— but they need a safe place to ride, laws to protect them, proper safety equipment, and knowledge. Bike Texas works through advocacy and education to develop an environment where the healthy choice is the easy choice for those who want to ride.”
Anne-Marie is proud to be a nurse and brings many years of varied healthcare experience to the BikeTexas Board. She began her career as a pediatric intensive care nurse in Dallas, Texas and then transitioned to ER nursing in Tulsa while her husband completed a Family Medicine Residency. They returned to Texas and raised four children and several Golden Retrievers.
Anne-Marie was an Associate Professor of Nursing at Midwestern State University for over a decade. She received a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Texas Christian University and is double boarded as a Family Nurse Practitioner and a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and practices in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Anne-Marie understands that promoting health and well-being is best addressed at many levels— among individuals, families, and communities. She volunteers her time and talents to combat food insecurity, raise money for breast cancer research, provide medical support at the Hotter-n-Hell 100, and, at every medical visit, encourages behaviors that promote health and well-being in her patients.
