Gail Spann is the past Chair the League of American Bicyclists and of the BikeTexas Board of Directors. She is a founding board member of BikeHouston and an advisor and member of BikeDFW.
Gail has directed many rides such as the famous Houston Moonlight Ramble, The Bluebonnet Express Metric Century and the Lancaster Rally. She directed the “Mother” Ride of Silence at White Rock Lake for four years and served on the board of the ROS and continues to mentor for the organization.She is the past president of the Woodlands Cycling Club and has served on many local club boards such as the Greater Dallas Bicyclists. Spann served on the board of the Texas Mountain Bike Race Association for six years and raced both on and offroad for many years. She is the past president of WOMBATS for Houston and had developed a large women’s offroad race team when with NWCC with over 40 members. Gail raced for the Singletrack Sisters and NWCC as well as PACC of Dallas. She is a League Cycling Instructor and teaches on a regular basis.
