Teacher Training Draws Crowd in Lubbock

The Texas Bicycle Coalition Education Program continues to educate teachers in the Texas Supercyclist Curriculum across Texas. Most recently, 67 teachers from the Lubbock area attended a training workshop on October 31, 2005.

The Lubbock training was hosted by Lubbock ISD on a beautiful sunny day at Maedgen Elementary School. Field instructors Regina Garcia, Nancy Meredith and Dean Lewis taught the group. The training included the egg drop helmet safety exercise and the bicycle hang tag game. The most popular part of the day was, as usual, the outside on-the-bike safety activity. The Lubbock teachers gamely participated in spraying the chalk course, maneuvering through the skills and decision making tests, and brainstorming ways to incorporate the Texas SuperCyclist Curriculum into their classes.
