#FundraisingFriday: Let's Take Our Fight to the Lege in 2015

robin stallings lege hearing 2013The Texas Transportation Commission (TTC) has proven time and again that they are unwilling to represent the interests of all Texans. Most recently, the TTC refused to listen to what Texans had to say about the Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) funding. The TTC received over 500 requests asking them to keep all TAP funds available for bike/ped projects. Some of those requests came from elected officials around the state, but the TTC ignored them and wrote rules to allow them to divert up to $35 million per year out of TAP and into highways. Money that could have been used for excellent bike/ped infrastructure or Safe Routes to Schools projects is now more likely to build another costly highway rest stop.

We're ready to take this to the legislature. Can we count on you? Your donation will make legislators aware of the TTC's actions and work to make transportation better for all Texans. Donate to BikeTexas today.
