The Scoop

Be Safe Be Bright is a statewide bike light giveaway organized by BikeTexas, and people like you!

Through a grant from the Texas Department of Transportation's Safe Routes to School program, BikeTexas is purchasing a massive quantity of LED lights to distribute to over 100,000 Texas school children.

The lights quickly attach to any bike without tools or hardwareWe are using this opportunity to purchase extra lights for adults and teenagers around the state who can't afford lights.

Your donation to Be Safe Be Bright helps put lights on as many night riders as possible.

Lights will come attached to water-resistant card with safety tips for walking and biking

Making Texas Brighter

Be Safe Be Bright focuses on distributing an inexpensive and innovative light set that also teaches life-saving bike/walk safety rules, while providing necessary lights for those who have to walk and bike at night.

Our lights are easy to install in seconds without tools or hardware, and are surprisingly bright for their size.

Unique packaging we have developed with the manufacture allows the lights to come attached the safety rules card without extra plastic, so there's no waste.

The water-resistant card is printed with Bike & Walk Safety Tips in English and Spanish, and is a highly durable "evergreen" education tool.

I want to help! How can I get involved?

Be Safe Be Bright is in the early stages. We are still waiting to see samples from the manufacturer before we can begin ordering lights.

We hope to have a way for you to sign up for volunteer shifts to distribute lights to kids, and to fundraise to purchase lights for adults in your community.
