Robin Stallings

Robin is the Executive Director of BikeTexas, the statewide bicycle advocacy and education organization. He has been with BikeTexas since 1999, making the transition to ED in 2003. During Robin’s time as ED, BikeTexas has celebrated successes in Safe Passing Laws, now in place in 14 Texas cities; Complete Streets policies in multiple jurisdictions across the state; publishing the 2012 Texas Benchmark Report; producing an acclaimed biannual state conference for bicycling and walking; introducing cycletracks to Texas; encouraging Texas cities to put on open streets (ciclovía) events; training over 7,000 Texas teachers in the SafeCyclist curriculum, who have in turn reached approximately two million Texas schoolchildren with bicycle and pedestrian safety; and working with the Texas legislature towards Safe Routes to School, Safe Passing, and Complete Streets, and anti-texting while driving laws.

Mark Stine

Before joining BikeTexas in 2003, Mark Stine worked for over 35 years in medical, health, and environmental programs including nearly five years overseas. He has an undergraduate degree in biology and chemistry from Ball State University and a master’s degree in public health from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. Mark has worked in program development, community health and planning, and community risk assessment. He has worked extensively across all parts of Texas.

Brenda Chuleewah

Safe Routes to School Teacher Training Program Manager

Brenda is the Teacher Training Manager for BikeTexas Education Fund. She is a League Certified Instructor, and owned and operated The Bike Stop, a successful bicycle shop for 18 years in Wichita Falls. Between 2005 and 200 7 Brenda was a BikeTexas Safe Routes to School Outreach Coordinator for Wichita Falls in the first ever Safe Routes to School Pilot program in the country.

Emma Cravey

Emma Cravey understands the intricate interactions between government, non-profits, and the constituents and members that support them both. She has worked addressing constituent concerns for a U.S. Congressman in Washington, D.C. and handled constituent relations for the Mayor pro tem of Austin. She has also managed grants for the Environmental Division of Pew Charitable Trusts. She is a regular bike commuter, and serves on the board of Friends of Barton Springs Pool in Austin.

Fernando Martinez

Fernando is originally from Mexico City. He has been in the bicycle industry since 1980, when he worked manufacturing steel bikes and bike parts. He began racing road bikes as a 13 years old, and managed and trained a successful cycling team in Washington, DC, after he moved to the United States in 1988.

Jack Sanford

Jack left Texas and his car in 2001 to pursue a B.A. in Urban Geography and International Development from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec. Besides his academic studies of city life and urban agriculture, he learned a great deal about urban planning from inhabiting and observing what is arguably the most walkable and bikeable city in North America.

Ann Harkness

Ann Harkness, a professional photographer by trade has captured memorable images of events sponsored by such non-profits and publishers as the ACLU, Sustainable Food Center, Austin Cycling Association, Austin American Statesman, and the Austin Chronicle. She brings to BikeTexas her expertise from many years in Dallas’s advertising photography field as a prop and wardrobe stylist where she executed a wide spectrum of tasks large and small. Ann’s extensive visual arts experience and logistical coordinating taught her that no detail is minor.

Leslie Luciano

Leslie Luciano came to BikeTexas with many years of experience in bicycle advocacy at Bicycle Sport Shop in Austin. Leslie works on public policy issues on the local, state, and national levels, partnering with advocacy organizations, other industry retailers, and public officials. Leslie is a three-time winner of Trek's national "Advocate of the Year" award in 2009, 2010, and 2011.

Durwood and Allene Mayfield

Durwood and Allene moved from Lubbock to Austin to be BikeTexas Ambassadors, traveling to cycling events around the state to spread the word about BikeTexas. Durwood and Allene lived in Lubbock for 37 years, so moving away was quite a change!

The Mayfields were presented with the an opportunity to take a leap of faith and move to Austin to take positions with BikeTexas as “Time Travelers”—the unofficial title arose because, as Durwood says, “They tell me what time, and I travel.” Durwood and Allene are helping to develop the program to market the BikeTexas specialty license plates, which provide critical funding for several of BikeTexas’ safety and education programs.

Juliana is an avid cyclist, recently relocated to Austin from Washington, DC, where she worked for Capital Bikeshare. She is enthusiastic about getting involved with Austin’s thriving cycling, as well as underground music and arts community. She has a B.A. in Cultural Studies, Visual and Performing Arts from Evergreen State College.

Susan's love for the outdoors comes from growing up in rural Indiana, but her hatred for cold weather brought her to Texas. After ten years of running, cycling, and using public transportation in Lubbock, she is passionate about making all of Texas safe and accessible to non-motorists. Additionally, after working for many years in a doctor’s office, she has seen firsthand the difference physical activity can make to everyone’s quality of life. She and her husband Chadwick live car-free in Austin and are always training for their next 10K.
