The Texas Active Living Network (TALN) is a newly formed network including partners from public health, transportation, parks/recreation, community and regional planning, bicycle/pedestrian advocacy, local government, and conservation to support the development of active living communities in Texas.
TALN provides information and education on:
- building trails, bikeways, and other transportation, recreation, and conservation infrastructure to encourage active lifestyles for Texans; and
- developing and promoting programs to help Texans learn safe and effective ways to participate in physical activity as a part of an active lifestyle.
TALN coordinates efforts and policy among its members and similar organizations throughout Texas for the benefit of all Texans.
Information collected from the survey will be used by the TALN
organization to better assist local health departments, local parks and
recreation departments, local planning departments, local school
districts, and Texas Cooperative Extension County Agents in their
active living initiatives and to facilitate statewide communication.
Active Living initiatives include Safe Routes to School projects,
bicycle/pedestrian advocacy projects, land development or zoning codes
that promote density, mixed use, and connectivity, community-based
programs such as walking clubs, and ongoing physical activity programs
that incorporate lifetime physical activities with non-competitive
options.
This statewide active living survey contains 17 questions. Thank you for participating.
