Plemons-Stinnett-Phillips Consolidated Independent School District held their West Texas Elementary School Health Fair Extravaganza Thursday, May 10, 2007.  School nurse, Sharon Earls, BSN, organized the all day event for almost 300 pre-kindergarten through 5th grade students.  She has worked at PSPCISD for 23 years.  Mrs. Earls' experience and organizational skills were evident throughout this event and I'm sure helped the school attain many recognitions over these years.

PSPCISD has been honored with awards such as: No Child Left Behind Blue Ribbon School for 2003 - 2004; Exemplary School for 1999 through 2006; Distinguished Title One School for 1999 through 2005; and Texas Monthly Magazine’s 5 Star School for 2001 & 2002.

  Exhibitors included Frank Phillip College Nursing Students (type 2 diabetes screening), Stinnett Fire Department (Shelter in Place), American Heart Association, American Red Cross, Dental Hygienists, Sun Safety, Stinnett Emergency Medical Services (blood pressure screening), Game Bikes, Hutchinson County Crisis Center (HC3 - Caring, Coping, Changing), Department of Public Safety Trooper Beigle (Safe Riders), Texas Bicycle Coalition (bicycle safety), Grip Dip and Spin, and Bridges.  The Bridges program helps students with coordination where balance beams are used to help improve not only physical skills but also coordination that helps with reading skills.  Xcel Energy provided an outdoor program in the afternoon.
