BikeTexas Safe Routes to School Update
Tuesday, 21 June 2005

It Starts with You!
Then, together, we create a safer environment for our children.

The BikeTexas Safe Routes to Schools program is launching a major recruitment campaign! In order to reach 120,000 children in the next two years we are recruiting: Paid Staff (Local Outreach Coordinators), Volunteers (Evaluation Data Collection and Data Entry), Texas Public Elementary Schools (who wish to participate), and Physical Education Teachers (who wish to receive free Texas SuperCyclist Certification and Texas SuperCyclist Curriculum teaching materials).

With funding from the United States Department of Education, the BikeTexas Safe Routes to School Program unites communities toward the common goal of establishing and maintaining safe, active, and healthy lifestyles for children, and safer, healthier communities for everyone.

"I have championed 'Safe Routes to School' in Texas and nationally, because I believe it can make a big difference in the lives, health and safety of our children." - Linda Armstrong Kelly
