National Trails Day is Saturday, June 3, 2006. Get outside and enjoy a trail! Trail-related events are occurring all over the state, including events in Abilene, Allen, Austin, Barksdale, Dallas, El Paso, Floresville, Grapevine, Houston, Marble Falls, Plano, Round Rock and San Antonio. If you’re in the Austin area, the BikeTexas Trail Doctors invite you to join them on a trail workday in celebration of National Trails Day at the new Slaughter Creek Trail. The event will occur from 8am to noon, with free Amy’s Ice Cream after the workday, and is sponsored by REI, the Austin Ridge Riders and the Central Texas Trail Tamers.
