Ecotourism: Packaging is key in growing trade

Mark Stine, Texas Bicycle Coalition special projects coordinator in Austin, said all the canyon lands around the Panhandle make it a prime location for bicyclists.

"A lot of people are not aware of what you have here," Stine said. "If you can connect those with places to stay, this area is a prime location. The tourism brings money to the economy."

He said they've learned an area with two designated points of interest can attract bicyclists.

People are looking for reasons to ride their bicycles, Stine said.
