Membership aligns you with more than 1000 Texans to create a unified voice for cyclists to participate in state and federal transportation issues. Membership is the best way to be a part of a proven, effective, grassroots advocacy group.

This website is a member-supported, member-driven hub of information about bicycle safety, access, and education in the Lone Star State. This is often the first-point of contact for anyone wanting to learn more about cycling in Texas, and is a wonderful resource to connect clubs, communities, businesses, and individuals to the cycling opportunities that exist across the state. The website is also a source of news on the latest legislative actions and education programs of Texas Bicycle Coalition.

Permission and ability to submit cycling related articles and photos for publication in the BikeTexas BikeNews section of the site. Submittals are reviewed, and if approved, are posted to the appropriate BikeNews catagory(ies).

Catagories include: Advocacy, Accident Awareness, Bike Chronicles, Community Successes, Education, Safe Routes to School, and Trail Doctors.

Texas Bicycle Coalition Annual Report
Printed in late November or early December, this document highlights the successes of Texas Bicycle Coalition throughout the year. Members who support the Coalition at the Patron level and above will be mailed a copy of this hefty document. The Annual Report is also available online and is distributed through the BikeTexas Update.

BikeTexas Update
This monthly email provides quick information about BikeTexas legislative efforts and education events, relates interesting stories from the cycling world, and features details about upcoming BikeTexas Events & Rides. This member-supported email is distributed to thousands of email addresses and is a great way to advance the message of Texas Bicycle Coalition.

Action Alert Email
Action Alerts are sent to a targeted audience to leverage our grassroots suppport at times of legislative urgency. These emails keep you informed of the rapid actions of our state and federal legislaotrs, and provide you with an opportunity to participate in the legislative process at the most critical times.

Car Rental Discount
Advantage Rent-A-Car has offered Texas Bicycle Coalition members a special “Rate Code Best” discount program. Coalition members reserving cars at any of Advantage’s numerous Texas and international locations will be guaranteed the best rate offered through online discounters. Additionally, for every car reserved through this program, Advantage will make a contribution to Texas Bicycle Coalition in the amount of 5% of the total rental.

Texas Bicycle Coalition Membership ID Card
Members will receive ID cards with their Member ID-numbers, expiration date, and information about the Choice Hotels and Advantage Rent-A-Car discounts. The Member ID cards will also include Section 551.103 from the Texas Transportation Code. This is the statute that details the rights of a bicyclist to operate on the roadways and may prove useful when meeting with law enforcement and other community leaders.

 

Texas Bicycle Coalition Gear
With memberships at the $50 level and above, you'll be invited to receive either a Texas Bicycle Coalition ballcap, or a pair of cycling socks to display your support of Texas' only statewide advocacy and education organization working to improve the state of bicycling for all Texans.
