Georgi Roberts, Physical Education and Health Director for Fort Worth ISD, is working with Texas Bicycle Coalition staff to provide Safe Routes to School training to Fort Worth ISD's 4th and 5th grade physical education teachers.
Because of Roberts' extraordinary efforts, more than 50 teachers have already been trained. Together with Coalition staff, Roberts has scheduled another training to take place on October 29 for the teachers who were unable to attend the previous training session.
Roberts is collaborating with new Local Outreach Coordinators KC Jones and Elaine WIlliams regarding the first group of 20 schools that will receive encouragement and support during the implementation of the curriculum this school year. Her support and assistance has proved invaluable. She also kindly provided Fort Worth ISD maps to Jones and Williams.
