Worth Heights: A Worthy Candidate
Elaine Williams met with Ignnacio Zamora, president of the Worth Heights neighborhood association, Wilma Smith from the City of Fort Worth Transportation and Public Works Department (Traffic Engineering Division) and Vicki Bargas, whose mother started the Worth Heights neighborhood association years ago.  Safety issues immediately became a common thread.

The meeting included a memorial celebration for Vicki Bargas' mother and a pot luck dinner. Elaine Williams spoke about the Safe Routes to School program.  Worth Heights is looking to get a traffic light to slow down traffic on the school campus.  After the meeting, Wilma Smith and Elaine Williams found they shared a common vision:  both had a safe routes program.  Elaine set up an appointment to learn more about the city's safe routes program.
