Local Outreach Coordinators Durwood Mayfield and Sherman Phillips along with Director of Training, Chris Davis, attended the Plainview PTA city council meeting Thursday, September 8th. Also in attendance were the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent of Plainview ISD as well as the Director of Curriculum.  Elementary principals, local PTA leaders, parents and members of the school board were also present.

After visiting with school and PTA leaders, Durwood Mayfield gave a brief Power Point presentation on the Safe Routes to School Program. The presentation was well received, brewing quite a bit of interest in the program, especially the teacher training. Dr. Miller, Superintendent of Schools, assured TBC staff that all seven 4th and 5th grade teachers would be present for the teacher training.
