BikeTexas hires new Ft. Worth Local Outreach Coordinator |
|
BikeTexas is pleased to announce the hiring of KC Jones. KC will be working in Ft. Worth as one of three Local Outreach Coordinators in the area for the BikeTexas Safe Routes to School Program. She will assit in recruiting schools, teachers and volunteers for the program as well as assist in training teachers and students in the Texas SuperCyclist Curriculum. Through local outreach efforts, Texas Bicycle Coalition is committed to making Ft. Worth safer, healthier, and more accommodating for children and families who wish to walk or ride their bikes to school and elsewhere in their communities.
Ask KC a question about bicycle safety and her eyes light up. “I love riding with my daughter. It helps us both burn up energy. There is nothing like the freedom to go where you want, with the wind in your face. Wearing our helmets is a rule I never break. Safety is first.”
Mention bicycles, safety and her city in the same breath and she’ll respond with reassurance and wit. “I am looking forward to helping my home town of
Fort Worth. We may not have horses, but we can ride in Cowtown.”
The future campaign slogan for the city “Where the West Begins”? Maybe. Please join KC in promoting the BikeTexas Safe Routes to School Program to enhance bicycle and pedestrian safety in the Ft. Worth community. If you are interested in becoming a certified SuperCyclist teacher, volunteer, or sponsor, please contact her at the following address:
