Dear Robin, Gayle and Claire:
I just want you guys to know that I have my Texas license plate displayed proudly in my rear windshield, and that I've had it that way since I bought it from you on the Galibier in July.
Thank you for being such gracious hosts and hostesses when I was visiting you guys. What a great experience! It was my second Tour, and when the peloton was getting ready to come by, I was just as giddy as if it was my first. I've got the video on order, and hopefully I'll see some people/things I recognize!
I got some decent video, nothing award-winning, and some decent photographs as well. I caught Stages 11-15, including Robbie McEwen's sprint finish (just nipping Chris Horner) in Montpelier.
By strange coincidence, I stayed in the same hotel that Team Discovery Channel did in Montpelier, although my stay was one night before theirs. I went to Agde and caught the sign-in on the beach of Cap d'Agde, and the toughest stage of the Tour: Stage 15. Wow! I was on the second-to-last climb surrounded by Basques in the Pyrenees.
Well, I hope all your biketexas.org gear is selling well; I display all of mine with pride, I assure you. I'm getting ready to go to Iraq, and I'm taking care of a lot of loose ends right now.
Hopefully, I will see you at a future Tour de France! Au revoir....
