Get Involved; Become a Community Partner

April 2005

I am proud of my six-year association with the Texas Bicycle Coalition as their statewide spokesperson. Over the last few years we have reached many milestones at the state legislature, on the federal level, in our Texas schools and universities, and in the hearts and minds of the public as we promote bicycling as a healthy and safe activity.

As you consider a sponsorship role, please take note of the Texas Bicycle Coalition's many worthy programs. I hope you will join us in promoting healthy lifestyles and a safe environment for our Texas children.

Together we can accomplish much.

Dear potential sponsor and/or partner,

At the Texas Bicycle Coalition (TBC), not only do we promote bicycling but we also work to ensure that our partners, sponsors and members reap the benefits from our promotions. Also beneficial is the satisfaction of promoting bicycle safety and reducing childhood obesity across Texas.

The success of seven-time Tour De France winner Lance Armstrong coupled with the relentless efforts of TBC has catapulted interest in bicycling in the hearts and minds of Texans. Proof of this: our current Governor, who has taken up the sport has been instrumental in the passage of pro-bicycling legislation.

With seven years of growth, a great list of members and a wonderful staff, TBC has become internationally known as a premier bicycle organization. TBC's highly-touted educational programs -- Texas SuperCyclist, Texas SuperCollege, BikeTexas Trail Doctors, and BikeTexas Safe Routes to School-- along with ongoing legislative efforts such as the Matthew Brown Act and the new Texas Tourism Trails Trails Bill are just a few in a long list of TBC and TBCEF success stories. In October 2004 the U.S. Department of Education awarded $1.5 million to TBC through the Carol M. White Physical Education Program to fund three BikeTexas Safe Routes to School Components (Education, Encouragement, and Evaluation). These components will be used to improve and implement bicycle/pedestrian safety and bicycle/pedestrian education in elementary schools in North and West Texas, benefitting thousands of Texas school children.

Please contact us for more information about our programs and initiatives. I am confident the Texas Bicycle Coalition is the partner for you.

Respectfully,

Robin Stallings
