BikeTexas got an early Christmas present at the Austin office on Friday, December 19. Peyton Thorn, new president of the Permian Basin Bicycling Association (PBBA) stopped by to drop off a check for a generous club donation of $1200 for the 2009 Legislative Effort.
We offer our sincere thanks to PBBA for their support in 2008 as we
ready ourselves for the challenges of 2009. The funds will be used to
support the passage of the Safe Passing Bill and the other BikeTexas
legislative priorities at the state and federal level.
In addition to the commitments clubs have already made, we’re expecting good news from other clubs for major donations in 2009.
PBBA sponsors September’s Annual Fort Davis Cycle Fest. The ride
features a spectacular bicycle descent from the McDonald Observatory
through the beautiful Davis Mountains to Fort Davis on Saturday and an
ascent back up (if you’re up to it!) on Sunday morning.
