Rock Stars of Bicycle Advocacy & Education!
Wednesday, 10 December 2008
Bike WorldThis month, Bike World of San Antonio made a major financial commitment to bicycle advocacy by pledging a large annual contribution to BikeTexas. The funds will be used to support the passage of the Safe Passing Bill and the other BikeTexas legislative priorities at the state and federal level.

Bike World has entered the upper tier of bicycle industry companies that have shown the capacity and commitment to improve cycling conditions in Texas.

Also making serious financial commitments to BikeTexas are: Richardson Bike Mart of North Texas; Bicycle Sport Shop of Austin; Bicycles Inc of Fort Worth and the Mid-cities; Hans Johnsen Company, a major bicycle parts distributor; and the REI stores in Dallas, Houston, Austin and Round Rock.

The size and scale of the challenges bicycle advocates face in Texas have not intimidated some of the state's smaller bike stores either. Texoma Cycling Center in Wichita Falls and Waterloo Cycles in Austin have made big financial contributions and pledges to BikeTexas.

These businesses, along with dedicated BikeTexas members, provide a solid foundation for our advocacy efforts statewide. Please return the favor by supporting them and thanking them for their commitment to advocacy. Rock On!
