Outreach Coordinators Meet with Frenship ISD |

Lubbock Outreach Coordinators met with Daryl Flusche the Director Of Elementary Education on Monday September 26th. Frenship ISD is partly inside the city limits of Lubbock making a unique situation. Wolforth is a small town of only 2500 to 3000 citizens with a school system of over 6000 students.
The school needs good working relationship with both Wolforth and Lubbock city engineers. The three elementary schools inside Lubbock city limits are on a bust street that borders all three school campuses and has a speed limit of 50 mph. |

BikeTexas Local Outreach Coordinators Sherman Phillips and Durwood Mayfield enjoyed a meeting with the Assistant Principal Drue Coleman. The principal was unable to attend but set up with a meeting with Mrs. Coleman.
Mrs. Coleman, a native of Lubbock, attended elementary school through high school in there, then after attending Texas Tech, chose to stay in Lubbock to teach. She was passionate about providing the very best education for her students. |

Lubbock Local Outreach Coordinators meets with Principal of Arnett Elementary School |
|
Sherman Phillips and Durwood Mayfield met with David Pierce, principal of the Arnett Elementary School. Mr. Pierce was very excited that his school had been chosen as one of our target schools for the BikeTexas Safe Routes to School Program. The location of this school lends to it’s uniqueness in that it is a true neighborhood school. The neighborhood is small and therefore the student enrollment of Arnett is also small. |

Local Outreach Coordinators meet with Principal of Largest Elementary school in Lubbock |
|
Sherman Phillips and Durwood Mayfield met with Jim Andrus Principal of Preston Smith Elementary school Tuesday morning. They gave Principal Andrus a brief overview of the BikeTexas Safe Routes to School Program, which was very well received. Principal Andrus was more than receptive of the evaluation portion of the program. |

BikeTexas attends Tech Terrace Neighborhood meeting |

BikeTexas Safe Routes to School Local Outreach Coordinators Sherman Phillips and Durwood Mayfield attended the Tech Terrace Neighborhood meeting Monday night. In attendance were several city leaders including City Engineer Jere Hart, Councilwoman Linda Deleon, Councilman Gary Boren, representatives of the Lubbock Police Department, members of the Zoning Compliance Department and members of the media. |
